Tourist hotel gutted

A tourist hotel at Kandakumbura area in Ella had been gutted when a fire broke out in the adjacent jungle spread over a ten acre land. Police said no casualties were reported. They said the prevailing dry weather in the area resulted in the fast spread of the fire over the area. Bandarawela Urban Council fire brigade and the police doused the fire with the help of the wildlife officers and prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby 
tourist hotels.
