Woman who attacked stray dogs with a club arrested

A woman who was seen beating stray dogs at Pathiragoda road in Maharagama and attempting to knock them down with her scooter was arrested on the charge of cruelty to animals. Police said she was arrested during investigations of public complaints against her. During investigations the police had examined the CCTV cameras in the area to find scenes of the woman beating dogs with a club and attempting to run over them on a scooter.

The suspect woman was a graduate and an executive officer of a state bank. She was released on police bail pending legal action on June 10 before the Gangodawila Magistrate.
