Flight Operations to SL resume normalcy

The frequency of flight operations that was disrupted due to the Middle East crisis has now normalised but the passenger flow still remains relatively low, an official said.

An official of the Airport & Aviation Services said that Sri Lanka even had to adopt a different flight path to its European destinations via Pakistan and Azerbaijan in the thick of the crisis, but it had changed at the moment.

“All the airports in the Middle East ,bar one or two, operate at the moment. Therefore, traffic flow is normal for Sri Lanka, “ he said. Sri Lanka Tourism took a hit because of the war.

Surging jet fuel costs are deterring long-haul travellers, heavily impacting Sri Lanka’s vital tourism sector and associated foreign currency earnings.
