Three months past; prominent parties yet to send list of nominees to EC

• A list of 56 members are yet to be submitted by four political parties and some independent groups

Candidate lists for the Local Government election held on May 6 still remain incomplete as some prominent political parties and some independent groups fail to submit the lists.   
The Commission issued a notice stating that some registered political parties and independent groups, who had been elected have yet to fully provide their list of nominees for various Local Government authorities.   
The commission also emphasized that these lists must be submitted by an officially authorized person from each party or group, and that it was their duty.  Speaking to Daily Mirror, Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said a list of 56 members are yet to be submitted by four political parties and some independent groups.
