Fire destroys processed tea stock at Elpitiya tea factory



Colombo, June 19 (Daily Mirror) - A fire broke out at a tea factory located at Wathurawila Junction on the Elpitiya–Mapalagama Road this evening, causing extensive damage to the premises.

According to reports, two fire engines from the Galle Municipal Council Fire Brigade were deployed to bring the blaze under control.

However, by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, a significant portion of the factory had already been engulfed in flames.

The fire is reported to have destroyed a large quantity of processed tea leaves stored at the factory. 

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and no casualties have been reported.
