Tanzanian woman gives birth at BIA

An air passenger in transit at the Bandaranaike International Airport delivered a child last morning.

The 29-year-old Tanzanian woman who arrived from Dubai was to leave for Kuala Lumpur.  When she developed labour pains she was referred to the medical facility at the airport where she delivered a male child.

The mother and the baby were admitted to Negombo General Hospital for further treatment.
