Sri Pada pilgrim season 2024/25 will end on Vesak full moon Poya day on May 12.
Chief Incumbent of Sri Padastana, Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University and Sanghanayake of Sabaragamuwa Province Ven Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Thera told the media yesterday that the caskets of sacred relics, the statues and the regalia of the God would be taken in processions on the Ratnapura - Palabadra, Hatton - Nallathanniya - Awisswella, Nallathanniya - Bagawanthalawa - Balangoda routes to Galpottawala Sri Pada Rajamaha Vihara in Pelmadulla on May 13.
Ven. Dhammadinna Thera said the foreign tourists would be allowed to visit Sri Padasthana after informing Nallathanniya Police but the local tourists should obtain permission from the Divisional Secretaries and produce the permit to Nallathanniya police before setting off on their journey.
