No PC election this year: Nalinda

• Says government cannot keep holding elections all the time but needs to carry out development programmes as well

Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said the Provincial Council election will not be held this year as three elections were held within six months with the upcoming Local Government elections.   
Speaking at an election rally in Panadura, he said the government cannot keep holding elections all the time but needs to carry out development programmes as well.   
“After the LG polls, the main elections will be over. Only the Provincial Council elections are to be held. It will not be held this year because some laws need to be changed and a large amount of money has been allocated for the development of the country,” he said.
