Leopard in trap saved

• The well grown leopard weighed about 70 kilos
• The leopard would be released to the jungle after treatment

A leopard caught in a trap laid by a poacher was saved by a team of wildlife officers from Bulathkohupitiya Wildlife Conservation office with the help of OIC Attidiya Wildlife Detention Centre Suhada Jayawardene.  
The well grown leopard was weighing about 70 kilos. It was tranquilized and released from the trap by Wildlife Officer K. M. Sumith Laxman. He said the residents of the area cooperated with the wildlife officers.  
 He said the leopard would be released to the jungle after providing treatment.
