Jaffna University Students Protest

Students of Jaffna University yesterday staged a protest in front of the Jaffna University against Independence Day celebrations. They said the day celebrated as the Independence Day was a black day for the Tamil community in the country.   

The protestors held black flags and displayed placards criticizing the policy against the Tamil community in Sri Lanka.   

They pulled down the national flag hoisted at the campus and raised a black flag.
