Isipathana College Prize Giving held at BMICH

Isipathana College Prize Giving was held successfully at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, as the college celebrate 73 years of excellence in Education and Character formation. Since its inception, the college has stood as a beacon of knowledge, discipline and leadership producing generations of outstanding teachers, eminent scholars, visionary business leaders, valiant heroes and distinguished alumni who have made remarkable contributions both in the Government Service and in the Private Sector.   

This year’s ceremony was held in commemoration of the outstanding scholars of the year 2024, whose dedication perseverance and academic brilliance bring to the alma mater.   
An institution that has consistently upheld National and Religious integrity, showing equal respect to all faiths, races and cultures throughout its proud history, Isipathana College has nurtured and produced well-balanced personalities, who have contributed with distinction to the nation and the world. It continues to stand firm as a centre of learning, widely recognized among the academic dons in the Island, while also earning a reputation as a School of Sporting Excellence, equally competent in the sphere of co-curricular activities   
Minister of Justice and Integration, Harshana Nanayakkara (Attorney-at-Law), an Old Boy of Isipathana College participated in the event as the Chief Guest and Professor Rahula Attalage, who is also an illustrious Old Boy of the college as the Guest of Honour. Professor Attalage who is a distinguished academic and administrator in the field of Engineering and Higher Education, currently serves as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the Sri-Lanka Institute of Information Technology and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.   
The performance at the Grade (5) scholarship examination serves as a significant indicator of the strength of the Primary Section of the school in 2024. he school recorded one of its most outstanding results in recent history, achieving the best results among schools in Colombo South with an 89.93 percent of students scoring above 70 marks.    In the G.C.E. (O/L) examination, 334 students sat for the examination, out of which 309 were eligible for the G.C.E. (A/L), a pass rate of 92.5 per cent among them, 30 students achieved 9 A’s, 23 students achieved 8 A’s, 7 students achieved 7 A’s, 12 students achieved 6 A’s, 21 students achieved 5 A’s.
