India should continue to support SL: Sajith tells Indian HC

• Both parties also exchanged views on various economic, social and political matters

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa yesterday requested Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha to continue India’s support for Sri Lanka in overcoming its current economic crisis   According to the Opposition Leader’s Office the meeting took place at the Indian High Commission Colombo.  

“During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on various economic, social, and political matters. Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa expressed his gratitude for the support the Indian government has provided to Sri Lanka over many decades as its closest neighbour. He also requested the Indian High Commissioner to continue providing the necessary support to help Sri Lanka overcome its current economic crisis and recover from bankruptcy,” a statement from the Opposition Leader’s Office said.
