IDD charges increased: TRCSL

The relevant companies are authorized to increase the rates of IDD according to the Dollar fluctuation

International Direct Dialling charges (IDD) have been increased due to rupee depreciating against the dollar, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) said.   

Chairman of the TRCSL Jayantha de Silva said that the relevant companies have informed the Commission in this regard.  

He said the relevant companies are authorized to increase the rates of IDD according to the Dollar fluctuation.   
However, he said that no approval has been granted to increase local calls or internet charges.
