Some politicians such as Udaya Gammanpila and Namal Rajapaksa are perturbed after realizing that the investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks are heading towards the right direction with the arrest of an intelligence officer for misleading investigations into the murder of two Vavunathivu police officers and the arrest of former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, alias ‘Pilleyan’, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said yesterday.
Speaking at an election rally, he said the arrest of an intelligence officer for misleading investigations into the murder of two Vavunathivu police officers was a key incident which showed that the investigations are heading in the right direction.
“It is not a surprise for Udaya Gammanpila, Namal Rajapaksa, Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sarath Weerasekara to get perturbed when the real suspects are arrested. It was a turning point in the investigations when an intelligence officer was arrested over the Vavunathivu incident. They got even more worried when Pilleyan was arrested,” he said.
