Election Commission receives over 120 polls related complaints

The Election Commission has reported a total of 121 complaints during the period from July 31 to August 06, related to the upcoming Presidential election.   

According to a media release by the Commission, all complaints were categorized under breaches of election laws, with no reported incidents of violence or other types of complaints.   

The National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 80 complaints, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 41 complaints.   

The Election Commission is actively addressing these complaints to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process, Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Rathnayake affirmed.
