Devotees urged to visit another day as large crowds expected today as well

Due to an expected surge in visitors paying homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, police and authorities have adviced devotees to consider visiting on an alternate day instead of today (23) as a larger gathering of about 100,000 are expected today, to ensure a more peaceful and convenient experience.

Issuing a statement, the Police Media Division yesterday said that with four more days remaining in the ‘Siri Dalada Wandana’, the public is encouraged to make use of the remaining period to participate in the veneration without facing overcrowded conditions.  

The exposition, which began on April 18, has so far drawn massive crowds, with over 80,000 devotees reported to have lined up by 6 am on April 22.
