Colombo Mayor’s residence to be given for children’s recreation?

The official Residence of Colombo Mayor is to be open for children recreation activities.   
Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar said it will be given over to the children every month to come read books, sing and draw pictures.   
“This is a long-term initiative, and we’re hoping to make it a monthly tradition,” Ms. Balthazar said in her Facebook post.   
“Many years ago, Sirinivasa was home to the city’s library. So it felt just right to bring a new reading initiative here — one where children from all 12 pre-schools run by the council could come together for a Reading Day. We already had the first session.   
We read books, drew pictures, sang songs and had lots of fun play time,” she said.   
“The Deputy Mayor and I were absolutely thrilled to see the joy, curiosity, and energy the children brought with them today. It reminded us why spaces like these matter so much.Thanks to the Charity Commissioner and the librarian of the CMC for being just as excited about this.” She said.
