BOI Toastmasters Club holds 3rd installation ceremony

The Board of Investment (BOI) Toastmasters Club held its 3rd installation ceremony on October 9, 2025, at the BOI Auditorium.   

The Chief Guest, Mr. Arjuna Herath, Chairman of the Board of Investment, graced the occasion and commended the club’s efforts in promoting leadership, teamwork, and communication excellence among BOI employees.   

Delivering the Keynote Speech, Mr. Dilupa Pathirana, Chief Executive Officer of Barista Coffee Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, spoke on “Lead Bravely”. He shared insights on leadership theories and the qualities that define great leaders, emphasising courage, authenticity, and adaptability in today’s dynamic professional environment.   

The Guest of Honour, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Niroshan Nadarajah, District Director of District 82 – Toastmasters International, commended the BOI Toastmasters Club for its rapid growth and outstanding contribution to the Toastmasters movement in Sri Lanka.   

In his address, the incoming President, Mr. Chanaka Kumanayaka, announced that the club currently has 25 active members and aims to expand its membership while enhancing members’ public speaking and leadership capabilities.

The ceremony was also witnessed by DTM Bhathiya Hettiarachchi, Programme Quality Director, District 82, DTM Piyakara Jayaratne, Club Growth Director, District 82, the BOI heads of department, and senior Toastmasters from outside the organisation, all of whom expressed their support and appreciation for the club’s initiatives.   

The BOI Toastmasters Club was established in September 2023 by the BOI Executive Officers’ Union and is mentored by the CIMA Sri Lanka Toastmasters Club.
