Airport security officer nabbed with gold biscuits valued over Rs. 210 million

A security officer at the Bandaranaike International Airport who attempted to smuggle into the country a consignment of gold biscuits valued at more than Rs. 210. 52 million was arrested yesterday morning by the Airport Customs officers.   
He was checked on suspicion by the customs officials when attempting to pass through the exit for airport staff.   
 The stock of 51 gold biscuits of 24 karats weighing 5.941 kilos had been wrapped in his legs with bandages and covered with socks. The suspect is a resident of Negombo and the president of the Airport Security Service Organization. Officials suspect that he would have undertaken to pass through the special exit the consignment of gold biscuits belonging to an airline passenger and that he had been carrying on the racket since long.   
 The suspects was being further questioned by the Airport Customs Officers
