It was 17 years ago on an August 25th when God looked around his garden and saw an empty space. Then looked down from heaven and saw Victoreen’s tired face. He put his arms around her and whispered come and rest. God’s garden must be beautiful because he only calls the best.

We got married on October 8, 1968 at All Saints Church, Borella and spent a happy and peaceful wedded life which lasted for almost 40 long years with fun, laughter and joy. I still remember what Victoreen told me when we decided to get married. What she told me was “Kamil, marriages are made in heaven and if God wants our marriage to take place, no one can stop our marriage and that will be the day God will unite us and we will be one”. And with God’s blessings we got married. Victoreen placed gold on my finger and brought love like I never knew. She gave life to our children and when I needed hope and inspiration she was always strong. The promise we gave each other we always fulfilled. We thanked our lucky stars. We found each other and we were old enough to be so sincere and faithful.

We prayed together daily from the first day we got married until her untimely death. She passed away peacefully on August 25, 2008. That is the day it broke my heart to lose her. You’re gone so far away and I am all alone. My days and nights have turned so lonely from the day God called you to rest.

Memories are all that you have left me and no more will I see the love light in your eyes. I remember the tender words you spoke to me so softly and the loving things you used to say. Vicky, in life I loved you so dearly, in death I love you still. In my heart you hold a special place, no one can ever fill. Victoreen was loving, caring, and my only consolation and the greatest blessing in my life. She left this world loving me with precious memories time cannot erase. I remember not what I did for her, but I remember what I was for her, and what she was for me.

Finally thank you Victoreen for the wonderful and the generous sacrifices you made for me, our children and all the loving care and affection you showered on us. Thank you for loving me and for being what you were. Darling Vicky, our special years will not return when you were with me together, but love within our hearts you will walk with me together. Till we meet again. Sadly missed by your loving Husband.
