A Blood Donation Campaign organised by the Old Boys’ Union of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, together with the Past Pupils’ Association of St. Bridget’s Convent, Colombo 7, will take place on March 15, at St. Joseph’s College. The campaign is conducted in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service of Sri Lanka.
The initiative, themed ‘Give Blood, Give Hope, Give Life’, brings together members of two premier Catholic schools in Colombo — St. Joseph’s College and St. Bridget’s Convent — in a shared effort of community service.
During the sacred season of Lent, the campaign reflects the Christian values of sacrifice, compassion, and service to others during this time of spiritual reflection. This collaborative initiative by two of Colombo’s premier Catholic educational institutions stands as a meaningful example of unity, compassion, and service to the nation.
The call for donors has received an encouraging response from Josephian Old Boys and past pupils of St. Bridget’s Convent, many of whom have confirmed their participation together with their friends and family members to contribute towards this life-saving cause. Their enthusiastic participation will help strengthen the national blood supply and support patients in need across the country.
The organisers express their sincere appreciation to all donors and volunteers whose generosity has helped make this campaign possible. Special thanks are also extended to the dedicated medical staff of the National Blood Transfusion Service for their professional assistance in ensuring the smooth conduct of the blood donation drive.
