Peeping Tom arrested

 A Peeping Tom who video filmed with his mobile phone the scenes of young women at their bath through a minute hole in the bathroom door, was produced before Minuwangoda Acting Magistrate Athula Gunasekara and remanded till May 29.  

 The suspect was a male garment worker from Bandaragama area, staying in a hostel shared with female garment workers in Katunayake. Investigations revealed that he had video filmed the scenes of female garment workers bathing in a separate bathroom in the hostel.   

 He had been arrested during investigations of a complaint received from one of the victims.  Police told court that they examined the data in the suspect’s mobile phone to find the bath room scenes of several young women.   

 The Acting Magistrate ordered the Negombo Prison Superintendent to produce the suspect before a Psychiatrist of the Negombo General Hospital and to submit the medical report on May 29.  

 IP Jinapriya Mudannayaka produced the suspect in court.
