In a remarkable demonstration of generosity, Mr. Nahil Wijesuriya, a prominent philanthropist, has made another donation of Rs. 270,000,000 for the construction of a state-of-the-art A-Level building at Bishop’s College, Colombo. This substantial contribution marks a significant milestone in advancing educational infrastructure and fostering academic excellence at Bishop’s College, Colombo. This donation comes shortly after Mr. Nahil Wijesurya’s Rs. 1 Billion donation to complete the “Little Hearts Foundation,” a cardiac and critical care complex at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Colombo, in December 2023.

It is Welcome Move to give Donations to the upliftment of Education. There are many willing donors to Super Rich Schools, where children from super rich families attend. Some Schools, prominently Display the Donors name in School Buildings as they are the owners of the school, instead of mentioning as Funded or sponsored by so and so. This Super Rich Class should consider simultaneously to adopt some poor Schools , and really uplift the life of rural school and families. Government must insist that Super Rich Class should support poor schools with equivalent amount when donations sponsorship are made to rich Schools.
