House of Fashions management in a statement yesterday explained the altercation which took place on Saturday between its staff members and a customer but failed to apologize over the incident and said it was the customer who started the violence.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused due to spreading of viral videos, As the senior management of the company, we would like to issue a statement regarding the incident.

There had been an incident on the 21st January 2023 at our Bambalapitiya branch, where a customer had complained about his vehicle being blocked by another vehicle in the car park”
“Immediately responding to the complaint our Bambalapitiya Branch Manager, had paged more than 4 times through our PA System for the car to be moved. However there was no response from the owner of the vehicle. We subsequently came to know, that the owner of the vehicle blocking the customers car had parked the vehicle in our car park and gone to another location.

“The said customer then started abusing our Manager and Security officer in bad language and had assaulted our security in-charge.”

The staff who were in the vicinity had got involved to stop the customer, however unfortunately the customer has been continuously hitting the officer, wherein then the situation had escalated into a brawl.   We feel this incident has adversely impacted our goodwill with our Customers. We at House of Fashions  Always make sure that we do our best to protect our customers and offer the best customer service at all times.   Meanwhile, House of Fashions has released CCTV footage of the incident at its Bambalapitiya store, accusing the customer of assaulting its employees.

The House of Fashion also said that an individual assaulted its’ security officer at the outlet.
