Managing Director of OPEX holdings and billionaire businessman, Onesh Subasinghe has been found dead in a serviced apartment in Jakarta, Indonesia, informed sources said.

Reports say the 45-year-old businessman was on a leisure trip in Jakarta along with his Brazilian wife, his four-year-old daughter and another.

CCTV footage from the serviced apartment shows the wife of Mr Subasinghe, the daughter and the unidentified female leaving the apartment on Tuesday after leaving a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the door.

Subasinghe had been in contact with his family in Colombo last Tuesday  (02) and since there was no contact thereafter, the family in Sri Lanka  had contacted the apartment management and requested to know his whereabouts.

Family members who visited Jakarta after the incident have found that the trio had left the country on a Doha-bound flight on Tuesday, and their whereabouts are currently unknown.
Jakarta Police is conducting investigations, and it is suspected that the incident was a murder.

The Foreign Ministry and Ambassador Jayanath Colombage are also looking into the incident.

OPEX holdings website says Subasinghe held a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Cornell University, USA. His knowledge in investment, academics and experience brought meaningful gains to OPEX holdings.
