Three senior DIGs in the fray for IGP post

Three senior police officers are set to vie for the IGP post, informed sources said yesterday.  

Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennekoon, Senior DIG Lalith Pathinayake and Senior DIG Ajith Rohana entered the fray.   

Incumbent IGP C. D. Wickramaratne is set to retire on March 20 this year.   Several senior ministers have spoken on behalf of these three senior police officers to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, according to informed sources.
