SJB will support a snap presidential poll: Sajith

• Hopes President will also hold Local Government election as well without further delay

Samagi Jana Balawegaya is prepared to support constitutional amendments to enable a snap presidential election, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.   

Mr. Premadasa said this after meeting the SJB Executive Committee at Opposition Leader’s Office last evening.    

“We will support the constitutional amendment to enable the current President to hold a presidential election. We also hope that the President will also hold the Local Government election as well without delaying it further,” he said.   

“However we don’t condone the government’s move to erase the election road map,” he added.
