Let CID handle it: Catholic Church

In the wake of discussions in Parliament yesterday (09) regarding the identification of the main conspirator behind the Easter Sunday bomb attacks, as claimed by MP Nizam Kariapper quoting Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security Ravi Seneviratne, the Catholic Church said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) should deal with the mastermind   
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando, spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Colombo, said that if the investigators have sufficient evidence, the mastermind should be handled by the CID.   
“The matter should not be politicized. It should be addressed transparently, without compromising any parties,” he added.   
When asked whether the Church is satisfied with the ongoing investigations, Fr. Fernando said the current government has accelerated inquiries that had been stagnating. “So, we are hopeful that justice will be meted out. We are waiting,” he said.
