GMOA stage protest opposite Hospital Square

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) staged a massive protest near the Hospital Square in Colombo, urging health workers to force the government to provide solution to the appalling condition Sri Lanka’s free healthcare.

Illogical taxation on doctors, quality of medicines and medical equipment and the shortage of medical practitioners at hospitals were some of the focal points the GMOA demonstrated at the protest which took along towards the Ministry of Health premises.

A heated argument erupted between officials of GMOA and the police opposite the Ministry of Health entrance.
