India’s Modi says cricket crowd stampede 'absolutely heartrending'

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that a stampede at a crowd celebrating the victory of their cricket team was "heartrending" as he offered condolences to the victims' families.

Modi said the accident in Bengaluru "is absolutely heartrending", and that "in this tragic hour, my thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones".
