Indian Prime Minister arrives in Anuradhapura

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a State visit to Sri Lanka at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, reached Anuradhapura a short while ago. 

 
Upon his arrival at the sacred site, Prime Minister Modi was warmly received by Northern Province Governor Vasantha Jinadasa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe and Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha. 

Subsequently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by the Sri Lanka Air Force.
 
Later, Indian Premier Narendra Modi activated the Mahawa-Anuradhapura railway signals system.
