Writ application against CB Governor dismissed

The Writ application filed against the appointment of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has been dismissed by the Court of Appeal.

The CBSL today said that the Writ Application was dismissed on the grounds that the petitioner had not established a prima facie case.

The said Writ application was filed by former Central Province Governor Ranjith Keerthi Tennakoon. Another Writ application against Governor Cabraal’s appointment filed by former Presidential Candidate Ariyawansa Dissanayake was withdrawn last week.
