Fire at Karapitiya Hospital brought under control

Colombo, June 16 (Daily Mirror) - A fire broke out at a transformer supplying power to the Cancer Unit of the Teaching Hospital Karapitiya around noon today (16), hospital officials said.

As a precautionary measure, hospital authorities immediately disconnected the electricity supply to the unit to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

The fire was swiftly brought under control through the joint efforts of hospital employees and the firefighting team of the Galle Municipal Council.
