Imran Furkan appointed to Asiri Hospitals and Asiri Surgical board

Imran Furkan has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director to Asiri Surgical Hospital PLC and Asiri Hospitals PLC, with effect from April 21, 2025.

Furkan advises boards and CEOs on strategy, market expansion as well as geopolitical, economic, climate and technology risk management. 

Currently serving as CEO of Tresync, Australia, Furkan has demonstrated a keen interest in medical tourism, focusing on its economic, strategic and policy dimensions. His work includes analysing the economic impact of medical tourism on the healthcare sector, highlighting how revenues from medical tourism can stimulate growth in healthcare systems across both emerging and developed economies. 

Additionally, Furkan has contributed to discussions on the future of medical tourism, addressing paradigm shifts and challenges in the industry connecting people and businesses together, fostering industry partnerships and advising on macro socioeconomic technological strategy. 

He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maharaja Foods PLC and Odel PLC, Sri Lanka, The Interfaith Network, City of Greater Dandenong, Australia and is Executive Director Programmes, Business Development and Corporate Services of Wattleshire Pty Ltd, Australia. 

He was an Independent Non-Executive Director of Trade Finance and Investments PLC in Sri Lanka. He also served as CEO of SLASSCOM and the Sri Lanka Press Institute. 

Furkan has also served on the Director Training Committee and Media and Public Relations Committees of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors. 

Furkan is a Fellow of CPA Australia, CIMA UK, has an MBA from Australia and a BA (Hons) Sustainable Performance Management from the UK.
