Cement price drops by 2% per 50kg bag

The prices of cement dropped further yesterday, with a 50-kilogramme bag now being sold for 2 percent lower than the previous selling price.

From May 1, the maximum retail price of a 50-kilogramme bag of cement will be reduced by Rs.50, to Rs.2,400.

According to the stakeholders, the price revision aims to boost the local construction industry by passing on the cost benefit to consumers.
