VIDEO-US to continue to push for media freedom

While claiming that media freedom in Sri Lanka continued to face pressure, the US said that it would continue to push for the protection of journalists’ safety and the right of all citizens to freely express their opinions.

The Press & Information Officer of the U.S. Embassy for Sri Lanka & Maldives Chris Elms made this comment in response to viewers’ questions, through a video on the U.S. Embassy's perspective on press freedom in Sri Lanka and Maldives and the exchange programs and social media training programs organized by the U.S. Embassy.
