Vajira Nettikumara released on bail

Vajira Nettikumara, the owner of the building in which an illegal gambling centre allegedly operated at Union Place Colombo 2, appeared in the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court and was released on a surety bail of Rs.500,000 by the Magistrate Thilina Gamage today.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate on May 12 issued notice on Vajira Janaki Nettikumara.

The Colombo Crimes Division charged that the suspect had permitted the operation of the gambling centre which was raided by the police on six occasions.

The next date of the hearing was fixed for September 1. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
