Two teenagers drown in P'irippu

Two 15 year old school boys drowned while bathing in the Pudukuduirippu sea area in Kaththankudi, police media spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said.

The bodies washed ashore after the residents tried to rescue them but the attempt they made failed.These teenagers had gone for a swim with few other friends on Thursday morning.

The victims are Punya Moorthi Vinodharan and Thangadurei Nishanthan. The victims are from Puthukuirippu town. The Kaththankudi police are investigating into the incident, SP Jayakody said. (SD)
