Student assaults school Principal

A 16-year-old student studying at the Sewanapitiya School in Welikanda was arrested today for having allegedly assaulted the School Principal this morning.

Police said the student had assaulted the Principal with a wooden pole when a group of students were cautioned by the Principal about their unruly behaviour at the school premises.

The Principal was admitted to the Welikanda Hospital while investigations were being carried out by the Welikanda Police.
