SF’s writ application dismissed

The Court of Appeal today dismissed a Writ Petition filed by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka seeking an order directing the Secretary General of Parliament to appoint him as a Member of Parliament after removing MP Jayantha Ketagoda.

In dismissing the application, the two-judge bench comprising of the President of the Court of Appeal Justice Vijith Malalgoda and Justice H.C.J Madawala observed that there was no legal provision to make such an order. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
