Pavement hawkers warned

The Defence Ministry has issued a warning to pavement hawkers with unauthorized structures to remove their belongings within a stipulated deadline. The warning was issued to illegal pavement hawkers in the Ratnapura town.

When contacted police spokesman SP Preshantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online that the police has been issued orders to remove all illegal pavement hawkers and unauthorized structures in cities around the country. (GS)
