Paramedics' strike; 2 die

Two people who were admitted to the Polonnaruwa national hospital and the Colombo National Hospital died this morning due to the ongoing strike by the paramedics Minister of Health Maithreepala Sirisena said.

The Consultants of the two hospitals had informed the minister that these patients could have been saved if investigations were carried out on time. The Minister also said that 400 patients who were admitted on normal conditions have reportedly been found critical due to the shortage in drug supply and the lack of investigations carried out on time.
