New uniforms for women police personnel

Women Police officers would be issued a newly designed uniform comprising a trouser and a shirt in addition to the one they are currently wearing for official duties, police said.

Women Constables/ Sergeants will be issued trousers and shirts while women police officers in the rank of Inspector and Superintendent will be issued trousers and bush coats.

The new uniforms will also be Khaki.

The Law and Order Ministry Secretary had approved the new style uniform which had been recommended by the Police Chief. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
