Negligence: Court wants JMO report

The Colombo Fort Magistrate today called for a report from the Judicial Medical Officer, following a death of a 73-year-old patient allegedly due to medical negligence at a leading hospital in Colombo.

According to the complaint, the 73-year- old had been admitted to the hospital with a wound in his leg.
The doctor had prescribed an injection after examination. About ten minutes after the injection, the patient had been found to be in critical condition and died.(LS)
