Video: May Day rallies underway in Colombo

May Day rallies organised by almost all the political parties in the country are currently underway at various places in Colombo with the participation of a large number of party supporters.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) rally led by President Maithripala Sirisena and the United National Party (UNP) rally led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe are under way at Hyde Park and Campbel Park respectively.

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, MPs WDJ seneviratne, MKDS Gunawardane, Mahipala Herath, Rajitha Senaratne, Mahinda Amaraweera, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Milroy Fernando, AHM Fowzie, Thilanga Sumathipala, Provincial Councillor Hirunika Premachandra are among those partitcipating at the SLFP rally.

Another rally attended by several SLFP parliamentarians, the MEP led by Dinesh Gunawardane, the NFF led by Wimal Weerawansa and SLFP Trade Unions are meeting at the Lalith Athulathmudali Grounds in Kirulapone while the JVP is holding its May Day rally at the BRC Grounds in Colombo.
