Man walking on E01 arrested

A man, who walked along the Southern Expressway (E01) regardless of it being strictly prohibited, was taken into custody by the Expressway Police Division today.

Police said he was the first man to be arrested for walking along the Expressway after it was opened for traffic. Director of the Police Division Eric Perera said the suspect would be produced before Homagama Magistrate. He said he initiated a formal inquiry to find how the suspect entered the expressway.
