‘Madam Jeena’, four others indicted in High Court.

The Attorney General today at the Colombo High Court indicted Rosemary Perera alias ‘Jeena Madam’ who is alleged to have managed a brothel at a leading shopping complex in Kollupitiya and four others who are alleged to have aided and abetted her to operate the brothel.

The four others indicted with Ms. Perera are - Mervyn Perera, Sumith Kumara Karunaratna, Dinesh Sampath Kumara and Mallawaarachchige Ricky. They were indicted on 61 charges of procuring a brothel house, employing eleven local and foreign females to indulge in prostitution and aiding and abetting to operate the brothel.

The 16 suspects were arrested by the Walana Police Special Operations Unit in 2009. (T. Farook Thajudeen)
