Key roads in Colombo to be closed for CHOGM rehearsal

A rehearsal is to be conducted tomorrow in view of the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to be held in November, with several main roads in Colombo scheduled to be partly or fully closed from 6 am to 12 noon tomorrow, the police said.

Accordingly, the road from the Old Parliament roundabout to the Galle Face roundabout, Colpetty Junction to the Liberty roundabout, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mw, Green Path, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Independence Avenue and roads surrounding the BMICH will be fully or partly closed during the said time period, the police said.

Police urged motorists to use alternative routes during this period.
