Kahawatte murder: 35-year-old man arrested

A 35-year-old man was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today on charges of killing a 48-year-old woman of Opathawatta in Kahawatta, Police said.

The woman, an estate worker, was found hacked to death in a tea estate in Opathawatta on September 28. The arrested is being detained by the CID for further investigations.
