PS transport director granted bail

The Colombo Fort Magistrate today released Presidential Secretariat’s former transport director Keerthi Samarasinghe Dissanayake on personal bail of Rs.25,000with two sureties of one million rupees.

CID investigations revealed that among the vehicles recovered was a bullet proof BMW found in the former Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne’sColombo residence and a Jeep in a private garage at Pepiliyana.

The CID toldCourt that four of the vehicles had no engines and that 44 vehicles which were assigned to the Presidential Secretariat were still missing. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
